What We Do

Founder and MD of BandBI Phil Walker writes:

In whatever profession we undertake, one always dreams of finishing on a high. Following all the successes enjoyed with my team over the last 7 years, and with a great start to 2009 ( notwithstanding all the economic and business difficulties ) already achieved, I decided to grab an opportunity, arising from a restructuring of R.B.S. Group, to take early retirement, and put all the skills and knowledge accumulated within the Bank, into helping businesses survive and then flourish during particularly difficult economic times.

If you listened particularly to the media, understandably, you would think Banks are not providing any advisory or financial support to businesses. This is simply not the case, and certainly from my own experiences at Croydon, during the first 4 months of 2009, my team undertook more business during January to April that year than they had achieved in similar periods in most of the previous 7 years.

Hence, I believe there is a real need and value, in ensuring businesses understand and maximise the value and support from their banking relationship, whichever that Bank may be. This will be the primary focus of my advice and support to businesses but in addition my involvement with businesses will also include the following :
  • Reviewing what the Principals of the Business consider to be the Key Strategies, Problems and Risks of their Business.
  • Analysing the Key Operational Risks of the Business.
  • Ensuring the Business has the right financial support to achieve their key aims over the next 12 / 24 months.
  • Reviewing the Financial Operation and Performance of the Business and making sure it is fully appropriate to support the future strategy of the Business.
  • Looking at the Management and Operational Structure of the Business.
